Women?s Swim & Dive To Take On Bowling Green

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's swimming and diving team will travel this upcoming weekend for action against Mid-American Conference opponent Bowling Green. The event begins Friday at 5 p.m. at Cooper Pool in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Ball State is coming off of a strong opening weekend at the Indiana Intercollegiate where they placed second of eleven teams. The Cardinals recorded a team score of 336.5, while also tallying 10 top-five finishes.
Freshman Amanda Kedzierski cinched the top spot in the 100 breast, while senior Carlena Magley placed second in the 100 free and fourth in the 50 free. Kedzierski and Magley combined with teammates Courtney Mudd and Katie Horn to capture a fifth place finish in the 200 medley relay.
Other team success came when Elaine Pitsas, Jessica Extine, Jordan VanWinkle and Traci Muszalski clocked 1:39.17 for a solid third place finish in the 200 free relay. Junior diver Madie Zirzow finished third in the three meter dive while posting a 230.65 and fourth in the one meter dive at 242.35.
Bowling Green was picked to finish third in the MAC for the upcoming season, according to the preseason coaches' poll, behind defending MAC champion Akron (ranked second) and MAC runner-up Miami (ranked first).
