Men's Tennis Completes Day Two at USTA/ITA Regionals

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team completed its second day of competition at the USTA/ITA Regionals Friday night which was hosted by Vanderbilt.
In singles consolation action, senior Patrick Elliott took down Max McLean of Murray State 6-2, 6-0 and will take on Patrick Mayer of Memphis Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Lucas Andersen earned straight set victories over Gabriel Ruiz of Morehead State and then over Shakeel Manji of Memphis. Andersen will now compete against Middle Tennessee States' Dima Zhymantovich. Newcomer Jan Jirus fell in consolation action 6-1, 7-5 to Vanderbilt's Tate Allwardt.
The Ball State tennis team ends action at the USTA/ITA Regionals Saturday and will wrap up its fall play Oct. 31 at the Mid-American COnference Indoor Championship in Kalamazoo, Mich.
