
Men's Tennis Wins at Illinois State, 4-3

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Ball State men's tennis team tallied a close 4-3 victory at Illinois State Saturday evening at the Evergreen Raquet Club. With the win the Cardinals improve to 10-6 on the season while Illinois State falls to 5-10.
Ball State fell behind 1-0 early in the match against the Redbirds after dropping all three doubles matches.
In singles action, Leonard lost at No. 1 singles to give Illinois State the 2-0 edge but then Ball State came back with a win at No. 5 singles when Patrick Elliott took down Jakub Eisner, 6-3, 6-3. Dalton Albertin claimed a straight set win over Rolando Torrellas at the No. 3 position to knot the match at 2-2. Alexandre Brym defeated Jacob Wilson at No. 4 singles and then Austin Smith won in three sets to seal the victory for the Cardinals.
The Ball State men's tennis team will open Mid-American Conference action at Toledo Saturday. First serve is at 1 p.m.
