Women's Swimming and Diving Head to MAC

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving team is in Buffalo, N.Y., for the 2013 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship Feb. 28 – Mar. 2 at the University of Buffalo Natatorium.
Last season the Cardinals finished sixth at the MAC Championships and set several season-best times. Ball State finished the season with an 8-2 dual meet record.
Mallory Miles set a program record last season in the 200 fly with a time of 2:01.08 for fourth place. Miles also set a program best in the 100 fly at 54.35. Miles earned her third program-best time in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.13.
Katelyn Pratt earned the program's second-best individual time in the 200 back with a time of 2:01.93.
Haley Richter finished the 100 free in 51.09 which put her second all-time in program history.
Bridgette Ruehl became the school record holder in the breaststroke with a time of 1:01.77 in the 100 and a 2:14.28 in the 200 breast.
Emily Wisolek became the program record holder when she finished fifth in the 200 free finals with a time of 1:50.13. Wisolek also turned in a 4:54.95 in the 500 free which put her second in Ball State history.
Kayla Hussey turned in a 16:59.08 in the 1650 which put her second place in the record books.
The 400 free relay of Nicole Saulters, Carlena Magley, Emily Wisolek and Hayley Richter turned in the best time in Ball State history at 3:24.82. The 200 medley relay of Mallory Miles, Bridgette Ruehl, Haley Richter and Carlena Magley also turned in a program-best time at 1:42.18. The 800 free relay of Cheyanne Jackson, Haley Richter, Jillian Bischoff and Emily Wisolek also jumped on board in the record-breaking earning fifth place with a time of 7:26.86. The 400 medley relay of Nicole Saulters, Bridgette Ruehl, Haley Richter and Carlena Magley finished in 3:44.30 which also marked a program best.
The UB Natatorium has held some of the nation's finest swim competitions: Division II & III NCAA Nationals, the World University Games, the Mid-Continent Conference Championships, the Mid-American Conference Championship and the Empire State Games among other competitions.
