Men?s Volleyball Hosts Alumni Match Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's volleyball team opens its 2012 campaign Saturday, when it hosts its annual alumni match at 7:30 p.m. in Worthen Arena. Admission to the match is FREE.
Led by head coach Joel Walton, who enters his 14th season as the program's mentor, the Cardinals return nine letterwinners from the 2011 squad which posted a 19-11 overall record, including a 7-5 mark in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association play.
Three starters return from last year's squad in 2012 Preseason All-MIVA selection sophomore setter Graham McIlvaine (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central H.S.), junior outside hitter Larry Wrather (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forrest H.S.) and junior outside hitter/right side attacker Greg Herceg (Lakewood, Ohio/St. Ignatius H.S.). Redshirt sophomore Tommy Rouse (Carmel, Ind./Carmel H.S.) also returns as BSU's starting libero.
Slated to suit up for the alumni are 2011 seniors Marcus Imwalle (2008-11), Lee Meyer (2008-11), Anders Nelson (2009-11) and Dominic Spadavecchio (2009-11). Also slated to play for the alumni are: Evan Berg (2003-06), Andrew Braley (2002-05), Luis Castera (2005), Todd Chamberlain (2006-09), Zoran Grabovac (2003-06), Josh Lee (2001-03), Scott McCoy (1972-73), Ian Peckler (2005-08), Ethan Pheister (2007-10), Eric Schulte (2007-10) and Matt Sprague (2007-10).
