Scouting Ball State: The Cardinals are coming off of a 78-70 Mid-American Conference East Division loss to Akron Sunday. Sophomore guard Brandy Woody led the Cardinals in scoring with a career-high 17-point performance while teammate freshman guard Brittany Carter ended day with 12. Both Carter and junior guard Mercedes Miller led Ball State defensively with eight-rebounds apiece. Despite the loss Ball State out-rebounded Akron 47-to-44. Currently leading the squad in scoring is Jazmin Hitchens with 11.1 points per game, she also leads in rebounding with 4.4.
Scouting Bowling Green: The Falcons remain the top team to beat in the MAC as Bowling Green has started the year off strong with an overall mark of 16-3 and an undefeated 6-0 record in conference play. The Falcons are coming off of a 70-54 victory in front of 2,539 fans Sunday over Eastern Michigan. Bowling Green has three players averaing double digits, Chrissy Seffen (14.6), Alexis Rogers (12.5) and Jessica Slagle (10.6). Defensively Rogers is averaging the most rebounds this season with 8.4 boards per contest.
The Coaches: Ball State head coach Kelly Packard is in her fourth season at Ball State . . . Packard's overall record at Ball State is 56-59 (.486), while her Mid-American Conference mark is 27-27 . . . Curt Miller is in his 11th season at Bowling Green. . . Miller's overall record with the Falcons is 250-88 and owns a MAC record of 127-39 . . . both Miller and Packard coached with one another early on in their collegiate careers at Colorado State in 1998-99, where they helped the team to a 33-3 record, an NCAA Sweet Sixteen and a No.5 National Ranking.
The Series: This is the 56th meeting between Ball State and Bowling Green . . . The Falcons lead the all-time series record 41-14. . .
