Two members of the Ball State football team in 2010 -- Robert Eddins and Michael Switzer -- have been signed as free agents by the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League.
Eddins, a defensive end for the Cardinals from 2006-10, has been named to the Bills 53-man roster. He was a 2009 and 2010 All-Mid-American Conference Second-Team selection after starting all 24 games in his final two seasons. Eddins tallied a career high 4.5 sacks at Central Michigan as a senior, which marked the second most sacks in a single game in Ball State history. He managed a career high 10 tackles as a junior vs. North Texas, and blocked three kicks in his career. Eddins totalled 167 tackles in his four seasons, including 34 tackles for loss and 17 sacks.
Switzer, an offensive lineman for the Cardinals from 2007-10, started all 51 games in his career. He was a key component on the 2007 and 2008 offensive lines that helped Ball State to two of the finest seasons in school history and its first-ever back-to-back bowl games. Switzer was named to the All-MAC Third Team after captaining the Cardinals as a senior.
