Men's Golf Ranked 28th in Latest Golfstat Poll

Ball State's men's golf team, under the direction of 14th-year head coach Mike Fleck, is ranked 28th in the nation in the latest GolfStat Poll.
The Cardinals have defeated 78 percent of their NCAA Division I opponents this season, including a head-to-head victory over 21st ranked Georgia Tech in their last tournament.
Ball State is the highest ranked team from the Mid-American Conference in the poll. Kent State is the next best at 38th nationally.
Ball State has competed in three tournaments this fall and placed in the top five twice and in the top 10 of all three events.
The Cardinals tied for fourth out of 16 teams at the season opening Northern Intercollegiate, while Tyler Merkel earned medalist honors at that event. Ball State was fifth out of 19 teams at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, and TJ Carpenter tied for medalist honors. The Cardinals were seventh out 15 teams at the Golfweek Conference Challenge Sunday through Tuesday.
Ball State will compete at the Xavier Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla., Sunday and Monday, and then finish its fall schedule at the Akron Invitational at Firestone Country Club Oct. 10-11.
