The Record: Army improved to 1-2 on the season with a 21-14 win at home over Northwestern . . . The Black Knights opened the season with a 49-20 loss at Northern Illinois and then suffered a 23-20 loss to San Diego State in West Point, N.Y.
The Coach: Rich Ellerson (Hawaii '77) is in his third year as the head coach at Army . . . He led the Black Knights to a 7-6 mark in 2010 and a victory in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl . . . Ellerson owns a 13-15 overall record at Army and a 73-56 career coaching mark.
