Football's Travis Freeman Wins MAC Weekly Award

Travis Freeman, a junior linebacker on the Ball State football team, has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Ball State's 28-25 win over Buffalo Saturday.
Freeman led Ball State's defense with a season high 12 tackles against the Bulls. He has led the Cardinals in tackles in two games this season, including a team high 10 tackles vs. Indiana in the season opener.
Freeman, who has started 26 straight games and 26-of-27 in his career, leads Ball State with 29 tackles on the season.
The Cardinals continue the 2011 season with a home game at 2 p.m. Saturday vs. Army in Scheumann Stadium.
