MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's basketball program hosted its annual golf outing Saturday, Aug. 20 at Hickory Hills Golf Course located in Farmland, Ind. There were a total of 31 foursome teams that participated which was the best turnout under the direction of fourth year head women's basketball coach Kelly Packard.
"The 2011 Ball State Women's Basketball Cardinal Tee-Off was a complete success," said Packard. "The event was the first opportunity to expose the 2011-2012 roster to the Muncie and Ball State community. The interactions between the golf participants and our players were the utmost highlight. This event, which provides additional funding for our program, realized significant growth in all core areas, and provided a continued platform for event success."
The Cardinal Tee-Off began with a 1 p.m. shotgun. A dinner which included an awards ceremony, prizes and silent auction followed immediately after the golf outing. The team that won the outing was named the The Winners, and the captain of that team was Geoff Springer from Ohio, who was also current Cardinal Mercedes Miller's high school basketball coach.
