WBB Ends Season at Buffalo in First Round of MAC Tournament

BUFFALO, NY -The No. 11 seeded Ball State women's basketball team (9-21) fell to Buffalo 82-73 in a first round loss against sixth-seeded Buffalo (16-14) Saturday night at Alumni Arena.
Senior guards Ty'Ronda Benning and Ebony Jackson ended their careers on a high note as Benning led the squad with 20 points while Jackson chipped in 14 on the night. Junior forward Amber Crago also added 10 points.
The Cardinals out-rebounded the Bulls 37-to-33. Ball State's bench scored 16 points to Buffalo's bench of eight points.
After leading the first half on a couple of occasions with the last time being 21-20 at the 8:16 mark Ball State was unable to regain the lead the remainder of the contest. BSU came close in the second half coming in within one (64-63) after a jumper from Benning with 5:30 left to play but it wasn't enough as Buffalo continued to make its shots and free throws down the stretch to win the ball game.
UB's Kourtney Brown led all scorers with 27 points.
The Cardinals trailed Buffalo 38-31 at intermission despite five lead changes and four ties throughout the half.
