
Gymnasts Post Best Score Since 2000 at Kent State

Ball State's women's gymnastics team suffered a 195.950 to 194.525 loss at Kent State Sunday afternoon to fall to 5-8 overall and 3-2 in Mid-American Conference action.
However, in the loss, the Cardinals managed their highest team score of the year and the 11th best score in school history. The 194.525 mark surpassed the 193.400 score posted by Ball State last week in a home meet vs. Northern Illinois, and is the best team score since a meet vs. North Carolina State in 2000.
The Cardinals three conference wins mark the first time that has happened for a Ball State team since 2002.
Brittney Emmons and Nicole Allen each competed in the all-around and posted scores of 39.175 and 39.075, respectfully.
Allen finished second on the vault with a 9.875 mark, which tied her career high, which she set vs. Illinois-Chicago this season.
Emmons placed third on the vault with a 9.850 score and tied for third on the bars with a career best 9.825 mark. She tied for fifth on the floor with a 9.775.
Aftyn Siemer tied for third on the balance beam with a career high 9.750 mark and finished fifth on the vault with a career high 9.800. She also tied for fifth on the floor with a 9.775.
Kayla Kmiecik tied for fifth on the bars with a career best 9.800 score, and Amber Mirski finished fourth on the floor with a career high 9.800 mark.
The Cardinals will host Western Michigan Friday at 7 p.m. in Irving Gym in their final regular season meet of the season. Ball State will compete at the MAC Championships March 19 at Central Michigan.
