
Gymnastics Ends MAC Regular Season With Loss

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's gymnastics team (5-9, 3-3 MAC) ended the regular season with a Mid-American Conference loss to Western Michigan by a score of 194.025 to 192.575 Friday night in Irving Gymnasium.
The Cardinals defeated the Broncos on floor with a score of 48.625 to WMU's 48.525
After the first rotation the Broncos led 48.475 to 48.125. The Cardinals high performer on vault was junior Brittney Emmons, who tied her season high with a 9.775, while sophomore Nicole Allen scored a 9.725. Emmons and Allen led all participants in the vault with their high scores.
WMU still controlled the meet after the second rotation having a 96.550 to 96.075 edge over BSU. Morgan Coslow and Emmons both finished with a 9.675 on bars, which tied the season best for Coslow.
In the last two events of the night freshman Aftyn Siemer led the Cardinals after landing a career high 9.825 on beam. Both Siemer and Emmons had 9.800 in their respective floor routines which was the top score in that event. The 9.800 mark tied Siemer's career high on the floor.
Emmons also won the all-around with a season high 39.025.
The Ball State University women's gymnastics team will compete at the MAC Championships Saturday at Central Michigan beginning at 2 p.m.
