Albertin Named MAC Player of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - Sophomore Dalton Albertin (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central H.S.) has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. This is the first MAC weekly honor for Albertin this season.
Albertin helped the Cardinals go 2-0 last Friday after defeating Valparaiso, 7-0, and IUPUI, 6-1. Albertin played at the No. 1 singles position in both matches capturing a 6-0, 5-7, 10-6 victory over Jose Gasper from Valparaiso and then went on to beat Nick Volz of IUPUI in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 in the night match.
Albertin also paired up with Alexandre Brym to win 9-8 (5) at No. 2 doubles over the Jaguars. With the victories, Albertin improves his overall record to 6-1.
The Ball State University men's tennis team hosts Big Ten foe Michigan State Saturday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
