
Gymnastics Team Defeated at Illinois-Chicago

Ball State's women's gymnastics team, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Nadalie Walsh, suffered a 193.175 to 191.925 loss at Illinois-Chicago.
Brittney Emmons led the Cardinals with a first place in the all-around and a tie for first on the bars, while Nicole Allen tied for first on the vault.
Emmons tied her season high with a 9.750 on the bars and tallied a 38.500 to win the all-around. It marked Emmons first all-around victory this season and her second on the bars in 2010-11.
Allen managed a career high 9.875 on the vault to tie for the title, marking the fourth time this season she has either tied or won the vault competition.
In addition, Emmons tied for third on the vault with a season high 9.775 and tied for third on the floor with a 9.775
Aftyn Siemer finished second on the floor with a career high 9.800, while Kristin Vignola tied for third on the floor with a career best 9.775.
Morgan Coslow and MaryAnn Oehlerking tied for fifth on the uneven bars with a pair of 9.675 scores, marking a season high for each of the Ball State gymnasts. Emily Wehrle finished fourth on the balance beam with a 9.675.
The Cardinals will travel to Illinois State Friday before returning to Mid-American Conference action Feb. 20 at Bowling Green.
