
WBB Loses at No. 14/18 Wisconsin Green Bay, 80-39

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Ball State women's basketball team (5-7) suffered an 80-39 loss to No. 14/18 Wisconsin-Green Bay (9-0) Tuesday night in the Kress Events Center.
For the game junior guard Shanee' Jackson led the team in scoring with nine points while teammate sophomore forward Katie Murphy chipped in eight points on the night. Defensively freshman guard Shelbie Justice led Ball State with six rebounds.
Green Bay led the entire contest, the Cardinals were held to a 27.5 percent shooting mark from the field while, the Phoenix shot 45.3 percent for the game.
It was a defensive battle in the opening minutes of the game, as Wisconsin-Green Bay only led by five points (12-7) at the 12:21 mark before the Phoenix put together an 8-0 run that gave Green Bay the 20-7 advantage over Ball State with 9:43 left in the half.
The Phoenix ended the half up 35-12 over the Cardinals, after shooting only 38.9 percent from the field. Jackson led Ball State at intermission with five points.
The Ball State women's basketball team will end its 2011 non-conference season at home, December 31st when it hosts Marshall at 4 p.m. in Worthen Arena. The New Year's Eve game is part of a double-header with the Ball State men's basketball team which will start at 1 p.m. against Chicago State.
