
Men?s S&D Takes Third at House of Champions

Indianapolis - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team posted a third-place finish in the 2011 IUPUI House of Champions after tallying 541 points during the two-day event at IUPUI Natatorium, featuring eight teams.
Xavier finished first with 774.5 points, followed by St. Louis (627.5), the host IUPUI (383) in fourth, Eastern Illinois (292.5), Western Illinois (278), Centre College (272.5) and Ohio Wesleyan (196).
Ball State tallied its first victory in the 400 medley relay, as junior Michael Weber (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) and seniors Gavin McNeeley (North Manchester, Ind./Manchester), Chris Krupa (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) and Casey Schroeder (Williamsport, Ind./Seeger Memorial) combined to clock in at 3:28.08.
Then, Weber returned in the 100 back, tallying a first-place win with a time of 51:99.
The Cardinals returns to action Friday, when the squad opens competition in the 2011 Doug Coers Invitational. The two-day event begins at 6 p.m. Friday, and begins again at 9 a.m. Saturday.
