MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's swimming & diving team improved to 2-0 in the young season after defeating Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 142-101, Friday evening at Lewellen Aquatic Center.
BSU scored victories in 6 of the 11 events, with a trio of Cardinals collecting a pair of individual event victories.
Junior swimmer Jillian Bischoff (Atlanta, Ind./Hamilton Heights) added first place efforts in the 200 free (1:56.27) and 500 free (5:13.75), while sophomore Haley Richter (Roanoke, Ind./Columbia City) tallied victories in the 200 IM (2:10.82) and 100 fly (55.80).
Ball State diving's corps also scored wins for the Cardinals on the one-meter board. A trio of freshman Jamie Denlinger (Elkhart, Ind./Northridge) and seniors Whitney Adams (Danville, Ind./Danville) and Christina Riordan (Homewood, Ill./Homewood Flossmoor) tallied first (235.80), second (234.60) and third place (234.15) victories, respectively. Riordan also added a first-place effort on the three-meter board (257.62).
Ball State returns to the Lewellen Aquatic Center Saturday to face Mid-American Conference opponent Bowling Green at 1 p.m.
