Men's Tennis Competes at USTA/ITA Regionals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Ball State men's tennis team competed at the 2011 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships Thursday which was hosted by the University of Tennessee.
Advancing in the main draw singles flight was junior Alexandre Brym who defeated Justin Kirstein of TTU by a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Sophomore Austin Smith defeated Brandon MacDonald of Xavier in three sets. True Freshman Patrick Elliott took down Michael Retta of VU in straight sets.
In the doubles main draw seniors Derek Carpenter and Zane Smith earned two victories on the day. Junior Dalton Albertin paired up with freshman Ray Leonard for a pair of wins in their respective flight.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues action at the USTA/ITA Regionals Friday at the University of Tennessee.
