
Gymnastics Team Opens Season at Pittsburgh

Ball State's women's gymnastics team, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Nadalie Walsh, opened the 2011 season with a 192.00 to 190.475 loss at Pittsburgh Friday night.
The Cardinals were led by Nicole Allen, who won the floor exercise with a career high 9.750 score plus tied for first on the vault with a 9.700.
Aftyn Siemer finished fourth on the vault with a 9.65, while Brittney Emmons was fifth on the vault with a 9.625.
Emily Wehrle and Leah Wilson tied for second on the balance beam with a pair of 9.675 scores, and Tiffany Brodbeck was fourth on the floor with a 9.675.

Allen and Mackenzie Pacovsky tied for fifth on the bars with a pair of 9.550 scores.
Ball State will host its home opener Friday with MAC foe Central Michigan at 7 p.m.
