Men's Tennis Defeats Xavier 5-2

Ball State won doubles in their top two positions as the twosome of Cliff Morrison and Zane Smith took down Bobby Deye and Brian Starr by a score of 9-8 (3). The duo of Dalton Albertin and Austin Smith were victorious at the No. 2 spot as they defeated Mare Pretorious and Phil Diaz.
Three of the Cardinals six singles matches were decided by three sets. Albertin won at No. 1 singles 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 over Deye. Both Zane and Austin Smith's matches came down to the wire at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots respectively. Morrison also managed a 6-0, 6-2 defeat over Jimmy Roebker at No. 2 singles.
The Ball State University men's tennis team will host Detroit Mercy and Anderson in a double header Saturday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. The Detroit Mercy match will begin at 2 p.m.
