WBB Suffers 77-61 Loss at Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY- The Ball State University women's basketball team (9-12, 4-4 MAC) lost a 77-61 decision at Buffalo (11-10, 4-4 MAC) Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Center.
Senior forward Emily Maggert led the Cardinals with 19 points and five rebounds while classmate guard Ty'Ronda Benning chipped in 13 on the day and junior center Amber Crago had 10.
Maggert opened the second half draining a three pointer for the Cardinals to make it a 46-29 ball game. Crago scored six straight points soon after that to cut Buffalo's lead to 11 (53-42) with 13:16 remaining in the contest.
Buffalo continued its hot shooting hand up 68-53 at the 7:16 mark in the second period, the Bulls first half 20-point advantage was too much for Ball State to overcome.
Ball State struggled from the line in the first half shooting 31 percent to Buffalo's 58.3 percent. The Cardinals trailed the Bulls 46-26 at intermission. Despite the first half shooting woes for BSU Maggert ended the half with 12 points.
