Women's S&D Treks To Buffalo Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's swimming and diving team treks to Buffalo, N.Y., for a 1 p.m. Mid-American Conference dual meet versus the Buffalo Bulls Saturday afternoon at the Alumni Arena Natatorium.
The Cardinals enter the meet with a 4-2 (1-1 MAC) record after suffering a 147.5-152.5 setback to league foe Miami last Saturday at the Lewellen Aquatic Center. BSU rebounded by winning the five-team Butler Invitational the next day.
Buffalo entered the week with a 4-2 (1-1 MAC) slate before hosting league rival Akron Friday. Their last time out, the Bulls scored a 161-137 win at Eastern Michigan.
The Bulls have won the last three dual meets between the two squads, with BSU's last win coming in the 2006-07 season, a 155-88 victory in Muncie Oct. 27, 2006.
Based on the latest Mid-American Conference rankings, Ball State's student-athletes have the advantage in 10 of the 16 individual events, while UB holds the edge in three of the five relays.
Individually, the Cardinals have 16 student-athletes ranked in the top 20 in their respective events in the league rankings.
Freshman Mallory Miles (Holland, Ind./Southridge H.S.) is BSU's top-ranked swimmer, with her school-records in the 100 back (56.64) and 200 back (2:03.18) ranking fourth and sixth, respectively, in the MAC.
Fellow freshman Bridgette Ruehl (Lowell, Ind./Lowell H.S.) is ranked fourth in the 200 breast (2:17.12) and eighth in the 100 breast (1:04.12) behind her school-record performances in each event.
