Scouting Ball State: Ball State enters today's contest with a 7-11 overall record and 2-3 mark in Mid-American Conference action. The Cardinals are coming off of a 73-62 road loss to Northern Illinois. Senior guard Ty'Ronda Benning led Ball State in scoring with 22 points while classmate forward Emily Maggert brought down 13 rebonds just four shy of her career high.
Scouting Kent State: The Golden flashes are the MAC leaders with an unblemished mark of 5-0. Kent State owns an overall record of 14-3. KSU is 5-3 on the road. Jamilah Humes and Taisja Jones lead the way in scoring for Kent State averaging 14.4 points per game. Kent State knocked off MAC favorite Bowling Green last weekend (44-43) and recently defeated Akron (72-55) Wednesday.
The Coaches: Ball State head coach Kelly Packard is in her third season at Ball State . . . Packard's overall record at Ball State is 47-37 (.559), while her Mid-American Conference mark is 23-14. . . Bob Lindsay is in his 22nd season at Kent State. . . Lindsay's overall record at KSU is 406-228 and owns a MAC record of 249-104.
The Series: This is the 49th meeting between Ball State and Kent State . . . The Golden Flashes lead the all-time series record 13-35 . . . Ball State won its lone contest at home over Kent State by a score of 77-70 in Worthen Arena in 2009 . . . The Cardinals fell to the Golden Flashes 72-63 at KSU last season.
