Benning Earns MAC West Division Player of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - Senior guard Ty'Ronda Benning earned Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for the first time in her career at Ball State. The announcement was made by the MAC office today.
"Ty'Ronda's MAC Player of the Week award is the appropriate recognition for an outstanding week of productivity," said head women's basketball coach Kelly Packard. "Seniors are always special. Ty's achievement of her career-high numbers, and the way in which she's leading are putting her unique touch on "special."
Benning averaged 27.5 points per game as Ball State knocked of Western Michigan (67-60) during midweek play and defeated MAC West Divisional co-leader Central Michigan 86-77. She shot 44 percent from the field for the week including 53 percent from behind the arc. Benning had a career high 33 points in the Cardinals win over WMU she connected on 10-of-17 field goals, including 6-of-10 from behind the arc. She also scored 22 points and brought down 10 rebounds as BSU beat CMU Saturday. For the week she averaged 6.0 assists per game and 8.5 rebounds.
The Ball State women's basketball team will travel to Northern Illinois Wednesday with a 8 p.m. (EST) tipoff at the Convocation Center.
