Men's Tennis Opens Season At Northwestern

Head Coach Bill Richards begins his 39th season at the helm of the Cardinals. Ball State posted a 16-10 overall record in 2010 along with a 4-1 Mid-American Conference slate. BSU also had a notable 5-2 victory over No. 47 UC Irvine last spring.
The Cardinals return 11 letterwinners from last year's squad, while welcoming one newcomer, Austin Smith. Ball State returns sophomore Dalton Albertin who was selected to the All-MAC Tournament Team, along with junior Cliff Morrison who earned Second Team All-MAC and Academic All-MAC honors in 2010.
Ball State will face two Big Ten opponents this season, Northwestern and Michigan State, along with ranked teams such as Notre Dame (April 2) and Vanderbilt (March 9).
