Rachael Pruett Competes in First Ever Pro Golf Event
June 08, 2010 | Women's Golf
Rachael Pruett, a junior member of the 2009-10 Ball State women's golf team, qualified for the Teva Championship, a Duramed Futures Tour Event in Mason, Ohio, June 11-12.
In her first ever professional golf event, Pruett managed a 78-80=158, but missed the cut for the final round.
Pruett qualified for her first professional tournament after carding a 75 at the Teva Championship Amateur Qualifier. Her 75 put her in a three-way tie for the final spot in the Teva Championship and Pruett birdied the first playoff hole to claim the final spot in Mason, Ohio.
Pruett was four over par after the first three holes in the qualifier, including a double bogey on the third hole. However, she finished the qualifier with three birdies to work her way into the playoff.
Pruett was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Tournament Team this past season after placing fifth with a 72-73-79=224 at the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers, Ind.
