May 07, 2010 | Women's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State head women's basketball coach Kelly Packard announced today that assistant coach Carter Shaw will not return for the 2010-2011 season.
"I greatly appreciate Carter's investment in our program over the past two seasons," said Packard. "I acknowledge his efforts and contributions, as well as his role in the success of the historical 2008-09 season. I wish him well in his future endeavors."
During Shaw's two seasons at Ball State (2008-10) he helped the Cardinals compile a 40-26 overall record, including a 25-12 mark in the Mid-American Conference. Shaw helped Ball State to the most successful season in school history in 2008-09 when the Cardinals won the MAC Championship and the school's first ever berth in the NCAA Tournament, defeating Tennessee 71-55 in the first round.
Before coming to Ball State Shaw had served as an assistant at UC Santa Barbara, Colorado State, and Utah.
