Men's Tennis Loses To WMU In MAC Semifinals

In doubles action Eduardo Pavia alongside teammate Dalton Albertin defeated WMU's twosome of Michael Calderone and Thomas Calderone, 8-4. The Broncos would capture an 9-8 victory over Shaun Bussert and Cliff Morrison at No. 2 doubles after winning the tie breaker to take the early 1-0 edge over the Cardinals.
Ball State would lose at No. 2 and No. 1 singles first to give the Broncos a 3-0 advantage. Albertin defeated Casey Cullen at No. 4 singles to earn the Cardinals their first point. Zane Smith followed with a win at No. 6 singles to make the score 3-2 but WMU would win in straight sets at No. 5 singles to advance to the MAC championship match Saturday.
The MAC Championship match will be played Saturday at Cardinal Creek Tennis Center weather permitting, where No. 1 Buffalo will take on No. 3 Western Michigan at 1 p.m.
