
Gymnasts Tally Record High Team Score at Illinois State

Ball State's women's gymnastics team tallied its highest score of the season, and the 21st highest score in the program's history with a 193.925, but suffered a loss to Illinois State's 194.150 Friday night in Normal, Ill.
The Cardinals won the vault with a season high 48.350, and took individual titles in the vault, bars, floor and all-around competitions.
Sophomore Brittney Emmons won the vault with a 9.875, while freshmen Morgan Coslow and Tiffany Brodbeck tied for third with a pair of 9.700's. The 9.7 on vault was a career high for Brodbeck.
Senior Bibiana Rodriguez took the individual title in the bars with a career high 9.875, while sophomore Katelyn Busacker was second with a career best 9.850. Busaker tied for first on the balance beam with a career high 9.825, while Brodbeck was third with a career best 9.800.
Emmons also won the floor with a 9.875, while Brodbeck was fourth with a 9.825. Emmons 39.300 was the best of any competitor in the meet and was a career best for her. Emmons also posted a career high 9.750 on beam and a career best 9.800 on bars.
With the loss, Ball State falls to 3-5 overall.
Ball State returns to the friendly confines of Worthen Arena for home meets three straight Sundays. The Cardinals will host Bowling Green Feb. 14 in a 1 p.m. "Think Pink" meet.
