
Gymnastics Team Suffers Loss To Bowling Green

Ball State's women's gymnastics team suffered a loss to Bowling Green in the team's "THINK PINK" meet Sunday at Worthen Arena. The Falcons managed a 191.575 to 190.475 win over the Cardinals.
Morgan Coslow won the vault, Bibiana Rodriguez won the bars and Brittany Emmons won the floor competition for Ball State.
The Cardinals started the meet on the vault and tallied their second best score of the season with a 48.275. The only higher score this year was a 48.350 at Illinois State.
Ball State was led on the vault by freshmen Nicole Allen and Coslow, who each tallied career highs in the event. Coslow managed a 9.750, while Allen tallied a 9.725. Emmons scored a 9.700 on the vault.
Coslow tied for first on the vault, while Allen finished third and Emmons tied for fourth.
The Cardinals took a lead in the meet after two events after tallying a 48.400 on the bars. The bars team score was also its second best of the season behind only the 48.700 at Illinois State. After two events, Ball State owned a 96.675 to 96.075 advantage.
Rodriguez won the bar with a 9.850, while Katelyn Busacker finished third with a 9.750 and Julie Cotter was fourth with a 9.700.
Bowling Green took back the advantage after the third rotation. Ball State managed a 46.150 on the beam, while the Falcons scored a 47.425 on the floor. After three events, Bowling Green led 143.500 to 142.875.
Busacker was the Cardinals top competitor on the balance beam with a 9.500. Tiffany Brodbeck managed a 9.40 for Ball State.
In the Cardinals final event, Emmons led the team with a win on the floor with a 9.800, while Brodbeck finished second with a 9.775.
Ball State fell to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the Mid-American Conference. The Cardinals will host Texas Woman's and Illinois State in its Family Day Meet Sunday, Feb. 21, at Worthen Arena.
