
Gymnastics Loses MAC Dual Meet To Kent State

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State's women's gymnastics team fell to Kent State in Mid-American Conference dual action Sunday at Worthen Arena. The Golden Flashes compiled a 194.500 to 193.150 win over the Cardinals.
Ball State is now 5-7 overall and 0-4 in league action.
After the first rotation Kent State tallied a 48.800 on the bars, while Ball State posted a 47.925 on vault. Brittney Emmons was the high scorer on vault for the Cardinals with a score of 9.700 which tied her for fifth with the Golden Flashes Sam Heydiauff.
Two Cardinals earned a team best on bars, Emmons and Katelyn Busacker both landed scores of 9.775, which tied with Kent State's Lydia Barrett for second place. Ball State continued to trail the Golden Flashes after the second event 97.600 to 96.275.
Emmons continued her strong showing on the day as she was the top Ball State competitor on the beam with a 9.725. Ellie Carrico scored a career high on beam with a 9.675.
In Ball State's last event, Emmons, along with teammate Tiffany Brodbeck, tied with a 9.775 showing on floor along with Kent State's Christina Lenny for a third-place finish. Nicole Allen achieved a personal best on floor with a 9.750.
The Ball State University gymnastics team will compete Friday at Florida with North Carolina at 7 p.m.
