Two Football Players Earn MAC Weekly Honor

The Mid-American Conference has named Ian McGarvey the West Division Special Teams Player of the Week and Jack Tomlinson the MAC West Offensive Player of the Week for their performances in Ball State's 37-30 double overtime win over Akron Saturday.
McGarvey, a senior placekicker, connected on three field goals and made four extra points for a total of 13 points in the Cardinals victory. He made field goals of 23, 44 and 18 yards and tied his career best of three field goals in a single game.
Tomlinson, a freshman wide receiver, had a career best seven catches for a career high 175 receiving yards and scored a career high three touchdowns in the Ball State win. Tomlinson's three TDs tied for the third best single-game effort in Ball State history, while the 175 receiving yards was the 12th best single-game performance in school history.
