Ball State Head Coach Stan Parrish: Stan Parrish (Heidelberg '69) is in his sixth season at Ball State and his second as the Cardinals head coach . . . He was named the school's 15th head football coach Dec. 18, 2008, and was the head mentor in Ball State's Jan. 6, 2009, GMAC Bowl appearance . . . Parrish became the first Ball State assistant coach promoted to head coach since Wave Myers in 1968 . . . One of five finalists for the 2008 Broyles Award, which goes to the nation's top assistant, Parrish owns a 61-59-3 career head coaching record at Wabash (1978-82), Marshall (1984-85), Kansas State (1986-88) and Ball State . . . Parrish earned a college football national championship ring as a member of the 1997 Michigan coaching staff and owns an NFL Super Bowl ring after serving as quarterbacks coach of the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers . . . Parrish has been selected for induction into the Heidelberg College Athletic Hall of Fame . . . Parrish is a part of the 25th induction class in school history.

The Coach: Rob Ianello (Catholic '87) is in his first year as the head coach at Akron and his first year as a collegiate head coach . . . Ianello came to Akron after spending the 2005-09 seasons as an assistant coach at Notre Dame . . . He has also worked at Alabama, Wisconsin and Arizona.
The Stats: Akron is 13.4 points per game, while allowing 39.0 per game . . . The Zips are rushing for 104.8 yards and passing for 141.9 yards per game, while allowing 173.9 rushing and 269.1 passing yards a contest . . . Patrick Nicely has completed 118-of-240 passes for 1,182 yards with three touchdowns and nine interceptions this season.

With the 19 carries, he moved into third on Ball State's career rushing attempts list . . . He now has 734 career rushing attempts . . . Ball State's all-time rushing leader is Merriweather, who gained 4,002 yards from 1999-2002 . . . Lewis needs 344 rushing yards to become Ball State's all-time leader.

Otis Brown (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville H.S.) managed a career high five catches for a career best 88 receiving yards at Kent State, including a career long 32-yard reception vs. the Golden Flashes.

Jason Pinkston (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville H.S.), who recorded his third interception of the season and the sixth of his career in the first quarter at Toledo, tallied the second forced fumble of his career at Kent State . . . Andrew Puthoff (St. Henry, Ohio/St. Henry H.S.) recovered the Pinkston forced fumble for his first career fumble recovery.

Derrick Henry (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne H.S.) and Pinkston tied for team-high honorswith nine tackles apiece . . . The nine tackles tied Henry's career high and was Pinkston's all-time best single-game total.
