Women's Basketball Hosts In-State Rival Evansville Saturday

Scouting Ball State: Senior forward Emily Maggert earned her 24th double-double of her career after leading the Cardinals with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The double-double performance marks the second one of the season for Maggert. Junior forward Suzanne Grossnickle was the only other Cardinals to score in double figures after chipping in 13 points. Ball State lost to UDM, 78-60 but won the defensive batter outrebounding the Titans 45-to-39.
Scouting Evansville: The Aces enter tonight's game with a two-game win streak, after beating Mid-Amrican Conference member Bowling Green last week, 63-62, and Murray State, 60-54, on Wednesday. Junior Chelsea Falkenstein has been the Aces' leading scorer in both contests, scoring 17 in the season-opener and 16 vs. the Racers. Briyana Blair stepped up in the most recent win, netting 12 points. Classmates Jordan Lewis (9.5 ppg), and Staci Gillum (8.5 ppg), have also been consistant contributors this season.
The Coaches: Ball State head coach Kelly Packard is in her third season at Ball State . . . Packard's overall record at Ball State is 40-28, while her Mid-American Conference mark is 21-11 . . . Evansville head coach Misty Murphy is in her third season . . . she owns a 21-45 records at Evansville . . .
Both coaches led their respective school's to the NCAA Tournament in their first year as head coach. Both Kelly Packard and Misty Murphy coached together at Colorado State in the 1990's.
The Series: Tonight's game is the 10th meeting all-time between Ball State and Evansville. The Purple Aces lead the all-time series record 5-4. Evansville won, 73-67, last year at Roberts Stadium. The last time the Purple Aces played at Worthen Arena the Cardinals won that match-up 81-78 in overtime.
