Women?s Basketball Loses 78-60 at Detroit Mercy

Senior forward Emily Maggert earned her 24th double-double of her career after leading the Cardinals with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The double-double performance marks the second one of the season for Maggert. Junior forward Suzanne Grossnickle was the only other Cardinals to score in double figures after chipping in 13 points.
For the game Ball State outrebounded Detroit Mercy 45-to-39 which included 28 defensive boards and 17 offensive rebounds.
The Cardinals were unable to come back from their 18-point first half deficit. Ball State continued to force the Titans to turn the ball over defensively but could not capitalize on the other end of the court.
Behnid a 48 percent shooting effort in the first half, Detroit Mercy built a 42-24 advantage at halftime. Ball State forced eight Titan turnovers, but the Cardinals committed 11 first half miscues of their own.
Grossnickle tied the game at 2-2 in the first period. Ball State continued to have the edge over the Titans up until the 13:06 mark. After that, Detroit Mercy went on an 11-0 run that Ball State could not come back from by intermission.
