Women's Golf Team Inks Two Signees

Ashtyn Brown and Jenna Hague have each signed national letters of intent to attend Ball State and compete on the women's golf team for head coach Katherine Mowat.
Brown, a senior at Richmond High School in Richmond, Ind., lettered four years in golf for Coach Joe Moehring. She helped the Red Devils to the 2009 and 2010 North Central Conference Championhips, four sectional titles, two regional championships and a runnerup finish at the 2008 Indiana High School Athletic Association State Championships. Brown,who tallied a 78.1 average as s senior and managed a career low 71 as a senior, helped the team to a seventh place showing at state in 2009 and a fifth-place finish in the 2010 IHSAA State Championships. She placed second at the sectional as a senior and second at the Richmond Invitational and the Greensburg Invitational in her final campaign.
Brown, the daughter of Stephen and Kerri Brown, owns a 3.7 grade-point average on Richmond's 4.0 scale. A member of the National Honor Society, Brown plans to major in nursing at Ball State. Her sister, Taylor, plays golf at Henderson State University.
Hague is in her final year at Nelson High School in Burlington, Ontario, won the 2010 Canadian Ping Junior Match Play Championship and finished 17th at the 2010 Ontario Junior Championships with rounds of 82-75-79. She placed ninth overall and second in the Juvenile Division of the Golf Association of Ontario Junior Girls Spring Classic in 2010 plus won the Humber College Invitational in 2010. In 2009, Hague won the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association Championship plus placed 19th overall and third in the Juvenile Division of the Ontario Junior. She also won the Burlington Golf and Country Club Junior Championship with a 77-75 and placed fifth at the Ontario Summer Games with an 80-70 in 2010.
