Morrison Named Milwaukee Tennis Classic Singles Champion

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Ball State University men's tennis team concluded action Sunday at the 34th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic after taking on Wisconsin and Marquette in singles action and Northwestern in doubles play.
Sophomore Cliff Morrison managed a 6-3, 6-3 defeat over Chris Freeman of Wisconsin. Classmate Andres Monroy took down Varun Chari 6-3, 2-6, 10-8. Freshman Owen Doherty earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Jose Manuel Munoz.
In doubles action the twosome of Andres Monroy and Zane Smith earned an 8-5 victory over Sidarth Balaji and Andrew McCarthy of Northwestern. Morrison and sophomore Derek Carpenter paired up for a Cardinal win over Northwesterns Eric Spector and Chris Jackman.
Morrison was the tournaments men's single champion.
