Thousands Attend FanJam to Kick Off Fall Seasons
August 16, 2009 | Football
Ball State's football team held its annual FanJam at Scheumann Stadium, and thousands from the Muncie community came out to meet and greet student-athletes as the Cardinals kicked off the fall sports seasons.
"This is a great day for our fans and our student-athletes," Ball State head football coach Stan Parrish says. "It was a beautiful day and there were so many people here to show their support of Ball State football. The sucess we have had the last couple of years has given us a lot of momentum. We want all these fans at the season opener Sept. 3, and the Ball State student body needs to be there to support this football team. It makes a great deal of difference to our players when you run out on the field on opening night and the crowd and enthusiasm are there. We are working hard to get ready for the 2009 season, and we hope everyone comes out on that Thursday night."
Ball State's annual FanJam was free admission with free food and beverage provided by Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday's, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Domino's Pizza and Pepsi.
Sponsors for the day's festivities included Sport Clips, Discount Tire, Marsh and Centennial Wireless.
Ball State football and women's volleyball players were on hand to sign autographs, while the Code Red Dance Team provided face tattoos and the Ball State cheerleaders conducted games on the Scheumann Stadium field for all interested youngsters.
