Six of Men's Golf Family Near Top at Indiana Open

Over 25 Ball State golfers past and present competed at the Indiana Open Championship at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course. Six current and former players finished in the top-25 at the event.
Ball State alum Brian Maurer tied for fifth after firing a 74-73-66-69=282. The 2008 Ball State graduate's third round 66 was the lowest third round score among the 70 golfers who made the cut.
Ball State alum Jamie Broce tied for ninth after managing a 71-71-71-73=286.
Scott Steger, the father of Ball State junior Eric Steger, tied for 13th with a 73-71-74-71=289.
Ross Cosat, a Ball State senior, carded a 74-74-71-71=290 to tie for 19th.
Eric Steger and Ball State junior Eric Skillman tied for 25th in the event. Eric Steger managed a 74-72-77-68=291, while Skillman tallied a 78-70-71-72=291. Eric Steger's final round 68 was the second best round among the 70 remaining golfers.
Ball State alum C.D. Hockersmith managed a 76-69-74-74=293 to tie for 29th.
