
Bishel Runs To 11th-Place Finish At Alex Wilson Invite

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - - The lone Ball State indoor track & field competitor for the first day of the Alex Wilson Invitational, junior Ali Bishel turned in an 11th-place time of 17:10.97 in the 5000-meter run.
The Alex Wilson Invitational is a last-chance qualifying meet for the 2009 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Bishel entered the event in an attempt to reach the NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 16:08.00.
Bishel was named the Mid-American Conference Most Valuable Female Track Athlete at the 2009 MAC Championships last weekend after posting a season-best and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 16:39.80 in the 5000-meter run. The time currently ranks first in the MAC and 48th in the country.
