Men's Tennis Loses 5-2 To Purdue

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University men's tennis team dropped to 5-5 on the season after losing 5-2 to Big Ten foe Purdue Sunday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. With the win Purdue improves to 4-7.
The Cardinals trailed early on in the match 1-0 after dropping the doubles point. No. 1 Ball State twosome of senior Jose Perdomo and sophomore Eduardo Pavia won their match over Purdue's Slavko Bijelica and Griff Nienberg, 8-7 (5).
Pavia captured a 7-6 (5), 6-1 victory over Branko Kuzmanovic at No. 2 sinlges. Pavia is now 6-3 on the season. Newcomer Cliff Morrison also won his match at No. 6 singles after posting a 7-5, 6-2 win over Nienberg.
The Ball State men's tennis team opens Mid-American Conference action at home Friday against Chicago State at 3 p.m. The Cardinals will also host Anderson in the night cap beginning at 6:30 p.m.
