Women's Basketball Travel To Buffalo Sunday

Scouting Ball State: The Cardinals dropped to 14-8 overall and 6-2 in the Mid-American Conference after suffering an 76-67 loss to Bowling Green (19-2, 8-0 MAC) Tuesday night in Anderson Arena. BGSU claimed its 19th straight victory this season and remained the only undefeated team in the MAC. The dynamic duo of forwards sophomore Emily Maggert and junior Danielle Gratton led the team in scoring with a combined 35 points. Maggert netted 18 point and pulled down 10 boards for her second double-double of the season. Gratton dropped in 17 points while senior guard Kiley Jarrett chipped in 10. Ball State trailed the Falcons the entire game but narrowed BGSU's lead to two-points on a couple of occassions, unfortunately the Cardinals couldn't overcome the 21 turnovers BSU totaled for the game. Bowling Green only had 11 turnovers but the Cardinals outrebounded the Falcons 44-to-30. Ball State continues to play the MAC East Division when it travels to Buffalo Sunday for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
Scouting Buffalo: The Bulls are coming off of a 67-59 loss to Toledo. With the loss Buffalo dropped to 5-16 overall and 1-7 in league play. Buffalo had only two players score in double figures forward Kourtney Brown led the squad with 20 points while forward Jamie Schiebner had 13. The Bulls lone conference win came against Western Michigan last Saturday after Buffalo posted a 72-64 victory at Alumni Arena. Head Coach Linda Hill-MacDonald is in her fourth season at the helm of Buffalo women's basketball. She owns a 40-68 coaching record at UB. Hill-MacDonald has coached at Temple, Minnesota, Cleveland Rockers and has been at Buffalo since 2005.
Series History: This is the 12th meeting between the two school's with Ball State leading the all-time series record 7-4. Before last season when Ball State lost at home 73-62 to the Bulls the Cardinals had won seven straight. Ball State has only lost at Buffalo once in 2000-01 by a score of 79-69.
Next Up:
Ball State returns home to take on Kent State. The Golden Flashes are 15-5 overall and 4-4 in the MAC. Both the Cardinals and Kent State have earned non-conference victories this season over Cleveland State and Robert Morris. KSU is 2-1 over the MAC West Division with wins over Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan. Kent State lost to Central Michigan 109-94 Wednesday and it will face Northern Ilinois Saturday. Ball State trails the all-times series record against Kent State, 11-35.
