Maggert Named MAC West Division Player of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - Junior forward Emily Maggert (Paris, Ill./Paris) of the Ball State women's basketball team has been named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office today. This is the second time Maggert has garnered MAC Weekly honors in her career.

Maggert earned her seventh double-double of her career and fifth of the season after leading the Cardinals with 17 points and 14 rebounds against undefeated Wisconsin-Green Bay Thursday night. Her rebounding efforts helped the Cardinals out rebound Green Bay by 16. Maggert helped the Cardinals defeat Illinois State 86-80 Sunday afternoon after chipping in 21 points and pulling down eight rebounds. The win over Illinois State marked the first time a Mid-American Conference team had defeated the Redbirds since 2006-07. For the week Maggert shot 68 percent from the field (13-of-19) while totaling 22 rebounds.

The Ball State University women's basketball team travels to Duquesne Saturday for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
