
Field Hockey Falls To Ohio 3-0

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ball State field hockey team suffered a 3-0 loss to Ohio 1 p.m. Saturday on the road. The Cardinals fall to 4-13, 2-7 in the Mid-American Conference, while the Bobcats earn a 7-2 conference record.
The Bobcats held a 19-9 shot advantage throughout the game while leading 10-4 in shots on goal. Brooke MacGillivary led Ball State with four shots, with two on goal. Devanny Kuhn also posted two shots on goal.
The Cardinals allowed just one goal in the first period by Marcy Dull off one of the five penalty corner opportunities the Bobcats had in the first 35 minutes. Maintaining the lead into the second period, Hull added an assist for Ohio's second goal of the day to Paige Herr. The Bobcats scored a third goal with three minutes remaining, sealing Ohio's seventh conference win.
In the backfield Maura Sawicki added a defensive save while Tiffany Shifflett posted six saves on the day in 70 minutes in the cage.
Ball State will conclude regular season action against Kent State 1 p.m. Sunday before hosting the MAC Tournament November 5-7 at the BSU Turf Field.
