Women's Golf Wins Duramed MAC Preview

Ball State's women's golf team won the Duramed Mid-American Conference Preview at The Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers, Ind.
The Cardinals tallied a 313-305-315=933 to win the event by two strokes over Eastern Michigan. The 54-hole tournament included all of the MAC schools which sponsor women's golf except Kent State.
Brittany Kelly placed third in the event with a 78-73-75=226, three strokes behind the individual champion from Bradley. The third-place showing was the best of the season for Kelly.
Kristtini Cain tied for 11th with a 79-74-80=233, while Rachael Pruett tied for 25th after carding a 77-79-82=238. Kirsty O'Connor tied for 41st with a 79-84-80=243, while Katie Windlan posted an 85-79-80=244 to tie for 45th. Ball State's lone freshman, Autumn Duke, competed as an individual and managed to tie for 50th with an 83-80-83=246.
The tournament title was the first of the season for the Cardinals and the fourth over the last two years. Ball State will complete the fall portion of its schedule at the Iowa Hawkeye Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
