
Women's Hoops Defeats Miami 81-66

Before the game the Cardinals honored NC State coach Kay Yow by wearing special warm-up shirts and the upside down pink ribbon embroidered on their uniforms. The coaches wore the upside down pink ribbon to form a Y for Yow. There was also a moment of silence before the game.
Senior guard Kiley Jarrett dished out eight assists on the night. Junior forward Danielle Gratton led the Cardinals with 19 points while junior guard Audrey McDonald dished out 17. Sophomore forward Emily Maggert netted 16 points and teammate senior guard Porchia Green had 11. Defensively both Gratton and Green had seven boards apiece.
McDonald made a stunning play in the paint after picking up a loose ball and laying it in for a basket while drawing the foul at the 15:37 mark to put the Cardinals up 52-44.

The RedHawks led by as many as four before back-to-back layups from Green and Maggert tied the game 31-31. Freshmen Amber Clark and Patrice King hit jumpers down the stretch along with one from Gratton to end the half with the Cardinals leading 38-33.
