Gymnastics Team Record Even at 1-1

The Ball State University gymnastics team suffered a 189.575 to 187.325 loss at Bowling Green Sunday to even its record at 1-1 overall and fall to 0-1 in the Mid-American Conference.
The Cardinals best event was the balance beam, where they defeated Bowling Green 47.125 to 45.925. Fifth-year senior Teresa Phipps won the event with a 9.75, while freshman Domenique DeRosa was fourth with a 9.475.
Phipps also tied for fourth on the floor with a 9.725, and was second in the all-around with a 37.875.
Freshman Brittney Emmons was fourth on the vault for the Cardinals with a 9.625, while freshman Daneen Haba tied for fourth on the uneven bars with a 9.575.
Ball State returns to action Friday with a 7 p.m. meet at Kent State.
