
Joey Lynch Named Wide Receivers Coach

Joey Lynch, a 2007 graduate of Ball State University and a 2002 graduate of Delta High School, has been named the wide receivers coach at Ball State, according to first-year head coach Stan Parrish.
Lynch spent the 2008 season as the offensive coordinator at Ashland University in Ohio. He coordinated an offense which averaged 324 yards passing, 146 yards rushing and 38.0 points per game while compiling a 9-4 overall record. He tutored quarterback Billy Cundiff, who earned American Football Coaches Association All-America First-Team honors, was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was a nominee for the Harlon Hill Trophy, which goes to the NCAA Division II Player of the Year.
Lynch spent the 2007 season as the offensive coordinator at St. Joseph's College in Indiana. He coached St. Joseph's quarterback to all-conference honors, while leading an offense which averaged 109 yards rushing and 215 yards passing per game.
After earning four letters each in football, basketball and baseball at Delta H.S., and helping the Eagles to a runner-up finish in the state football championship as a senior, Lynch earned four letters at quarterback for Ball State from 2003-06. He graduated as one of the most prolific passers in Ball State history after completing 391-of-613 passes for 4,292 yards with 37 touchdowns and a .638 passing percentage in his career. Lynch completed his career ranked second in Ball State's record books for career completion percentage and tied for first with six games of 250 or more yards passing.
Lynch, the son of Bill and Linda Lynch, is married to the former Danielle De Voe and the couple has one son, J.J..
Bill Lynch was the head coach at Ball State from 1995-2002, and is the current head football coach at Indiana University. He guided the Cardinals to the 1996 Mid-American Conference Championship and a berth in the Las Vegas Bowl. Joey Lynch's brother, Billy, is the wide receivers coach at Indiana, and his younger brother, Kevin, completed his collegiate playing career at Franklin College in Indiana this past fall.
